Warehouse: Prom Style for us Tall Girls!

Standing at 5"11, finding an aptly-fitting prom dress was always a nightmare. Luckily, Warehouse have a fabulous range of floor-length dresses perfect for us leggy ladies, just in time for prom season! I've created a prom-perfect look using one of my favourite Warehouse dresses, the Embellished Yoke Maxi.

I literally squealed a little when I came across this dress. Not only is it bang on trend with the embellished neckline and neutral colour, but look how long it is on the 5"10 model - you could sweep the floor with it! Warehouse even have a clever tool which allows you to virtually try on items. The Fitting Room allows you to create your own online body, using measurements such as your height, weight, hips and waist, which you can save for use in the future. It will then suggest the most appropriate size for you and show you how the dress will look on. Here's an example using my measurements...

Absolutely genius! A must for us tall ladies - definitely worth a try before you purchase to avoid disappointment of a dress being just-a-little too short. Here are a selection of other lovely "tall-friendly" Warehouse dresses worn by the same 5"10 model. You can check out the other lovely Warehouse dresses here.

ShopStyle's #festivalchallenge - My Entry!

If you're a regular reader, you'll know how much I love creating outfit sets. When Gwen contacted me about the ShopStyle Festival Shopping Challenge, I knew I had to become involved! The competition is running across ShopStyle UK, France and Germany, where one overall winner will receive a huge £1,000 cash prize to spend on a new wardrobe, and two runners up will each receive £200 to spend on their outfit. Amazing right?! The lovely Natasha is the UK ambassador, and you can check out her blog post for more details on how to become involved here. You can see my entry below...

Total: £199.47
(Could I have been any closer to the £200 budget?!)

I know I'm being a little hopeful for nice weather with my outfit, but a festival to me connotes glaring sunshine, blazing music and short shorts! Fringing is essential for any festival look - I love this H&M multi-toned bralette for its burgandy and orange hues. A pair of short shorts are essential to show off tanned pins and to also stay cool! Topshop is my go-to shop for denim, especially for their Tall section, and they certainly do not disappoint with these ripped hot pants. This gorgeous aztec-style kimono is ideal for stylishly shielding you from the sun whilst watching your favourite bands in awe, also from Topshop.

I completed my look with my favourite New Look gladiator sandals and sunglasses, and of course a big floppy hat - a must for festival chic. The paint swirl blossom bag from Paul's Boutique is the perfect size and style for festivals - big enough for a couple of essentials but not obtrusive.

I went for a boho-chic style for my festival outfit, and I am really pleased with how it's turned out. I would definitely wear this outfit myself, and could see the kimono becoming my summer staple should I be lucky enough to win! If you decide to enter this amazing competition, you have until tomorrow at midnight to enter, and please leave me the link to your look, I would love to see it!

Do you like my festival outfit?

An Important Meeting Across the City!

Hi everyone! A couple of weeks ago, the lovely Nhuc @ China Doll Boutique contacted me regarding a competition they're running for bloggers. To celebrate the launch of their brand new (and very snazzy!) website, China Doll are running a very exciting competition for us bloggers. The idea is that you have to create an outfit around your favourite China Doll item, and the lucky winner will win their whole outfit, up to the value of £200! Amazing right?! For more information on how to enter, click here. As I LOVE creating outfits, I knew I had to take part. The idea around my entry is having to attend an important meeting with a Brand Manager, across the city.

I would need to be dressed smart and fashionably, yet practically, as my journey involves several taxi and tube rides. This Ted Baker shirt is perfect as it gives off a professional vibe, and the jewel detail adds a fashionable edge. I would pair it tucked in to the gorgeous Danni Metallic Skirt by China Doll. Its metallic finish oozes class and the structured style is perfect for giving off a professional image. As an edgy contrast, my nails would be adorned with Essie's Cute as a Button to inject a burst of colour to my outfit. My accessories would have a rose-gold hue - an on trend watch is essential to ensure I'm on time, while the earrings and bracelet complete the outfit perfectly. While I would love to totter around London in heels, it's just not practical. Cue these amazing Miss Selfridge flats! Running from taxi to taxi in heels isn't easy, so the flats will ensure I get to the meeting in one piece!

My Zara Office City Bag is perfect for meetings. It has heaps of space for my folders, and is extremely stylish - bonus! My tablet is also essential for meetings, allowing me to take notes quickly and effectively, and of course keep up with Social Media on the tube! It would be housed in the gorgeous Ted Baker bow case (that I have fallen in love with!) for extra protection.

Travelling can be extremely stressful, especially with delayed trains and troublesome weather. A quick spritz of Caudalie's beauty elixir ensures my makeup stays looking perfect, and if disaster does strike, my trusty Naked palette is there to help. The neutral-bronze hues complement my blue eyes, and the Benefit they're real is my must-have mascara to finish.

I arrive feeling confident and refreshed (thanks to Caudalie!). I'm definitely ready for whatever the Brand Manager has to throw at me.

A Classy Evening Meal: My Etail Blogger Outfit

Hi everyone! I am part of the e-tail blogger network, and one of the many perks is being able to participate in fun, exciting competitions with huge prizes! This week, the brief was to create an outfit collage based around one of marc b's new season bags. I chose the gorgeous Angel Black Snake bag, as it reminds me so much of the iconic Chanel version, at a fraction of the price! You have to include some lovely ASOS clothes, then post it on your blog. Simples! The very lucky winner will scoop £75 to spend at marc b and a whopping £175 to spend at ASOS! (Angel Black Snake bag and Ted baker dress - you WILL be mine!) Sound good? Check out my entry below, and read on to find out how you can enter...

Mixed Ring Set - ASOS
Bow Front Platform Shoes - ASOS

The theme for my outfit was a glamorous dinner with friends. I chose this gorgeous Ted Baker dress which I have been lusting over for months. It is perfection - from its sequin nebula-style print to it's skater dress structure, it flatters your shape in all the right places. The dress is my outfit's focal point, so I chose to keep my accessories low-key. These swallow earrings are the perfect rose-gold colour for a subtle injection of class to the outfit. The rings will complement the red accents in the dress, and ensure the look remains dainty and elegant. Again, my shoes would be a gorgeous nude colour so my outfit is chic and not over-the-top.

Now, for possibly my favourite item in the outfit (it's tied with the dress!) - the marc b angel snake bag. Is it just me or is it a perfect match of the Chanel version?! The snake-skin finish ensures it oozes class and sophistication, and it's the perfect size for a couple of beauty essentials to ensure I stay picture perfect all night long! The Angel snake bag is part of marc b's new collection, there are some gorgeous pieces, and I highly recommend you check it out here!

As I've kept my accessories simplistic, I can afford to be a little more adventurous with my makeup! The night before, I would paint my nails a rich purple shade from Illamasqua to perfectly complement my dress. For the night, I would start with Stila's one step bronzer and a touch of powder. Then, I'd use Illamasqua's eye palette for some subtle purple hues, and finish off with Stila's curl mascara. A quick swipe of Nars sheer red lipstick and I'm ready to go! I'll keep them in my perfectly-sized marc b bag for any emergency touch-ups during the evening! I'm feeling fabulous and classy, I'm sure we'll have a night to remember!

My Dream Valentines Day Outfit

Michelle @ Daisybutter is running a valentines competition alongside Selfridges and Evian, in which you have to create your perfect valentines day outfit. Last summer, I entered her Holiday Hop competition with New Look, which I thoroughly enjoyed, so of course, I jumped at the chance at doing it all over again! Michelle creates such effortless outfit ensembles that always inspire me, and she's such a lovely girl, I'm thrilled to be able to enter another one of her competitions!  So, here's what I would wear for a romantic valentines evening...

Skater Mesh Insert Dress - Topshop

Structured dresses are huge this season, with cut out panels making a prominent appearance. This black number from Topshop skims your hips and gives a beautiful hour-glass impression, even if you still haven't shifted the Christmas weight! The sheer panel reveals your adventurous side, and is perfect for a cheeky valentines evening. My outfit would be adorned with sultry red hues, from the luxurious YSL clutch to the fiery platform heels. The contrast of black and red ensure the outfit is flirty, sensual and oozes sex appeal.

My eye makeup would revolve around shimmery browns, base from the iconic Urban decay palette, and dusted with Bobby Brown's sparkle eyeshadow to draw as much attention to my eyes as possible. Finish with a layer of Hypnose mascara and a quick swipe of Bronzer to stay picture perfect all night long.

To ensure Valentines day is extra special this year, I would spend the whole of the previous day pampering myself! I have a plethora of lotions and potions to ensure I'm looking my best from head to toe for this extra special night...

Sex Bomb - Lush
Diptyque Scented Candle - John Lewis
Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask - Hairtrade
Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser - Clarins
Glycolactic Radiance Mask - Ren
Estee Lauder Advance Night Repair - Selfridges
Tender is the Night Massage bar - Lush

First, I would run a long bubble bath with one of Lush's gorgeous bath bombs - my favourite being Sex Bomb for its sensual mix of clary sage, jasmine and ylang ylang essential oils. My favourite candle, by Diptyque, would be lit, my conditioning hair mask would be on and I'd tuck in to a good book to relax. After a good half an hour, my secret facial weapons would come out to leave my complexion glowing. I'd start off my exfoliating with my favourite one by Clarins and then apply a radiance-boosting face mask for the ultimate pamper experience. To finish off, I'd apply Estee lauder's advanced night repair to give me a glowing complexion for the day ahead.

Once done in the bath, I would then douse myself in Lush's special edition Tender is the Night massage bar to ensure my skin is silky smooth! Finally, I would of course paint my nails. My colour of choice would be Illamasqua for fiery reds, and of course, a hint of glitter! I'll be sparkling under the lights all night long, my look oozing confidence due to the risque red accents. I'm certain this Valentines day will be the one.

New Look's Holiday Hop

Following Michelle's blog post about New Look's Holiday Hop, I unleashed my creativity and compiled an entry! The brief was as follows...

"Imagine you are going to Ibiza for a long weekend. Create a post on your blog stating which items from the New Look store you would wear to complete each of the following outfits on your holiday. You can create one of five outfits, so get creative and show off your style with the items you would wear and tell me why you'd wear it."

So, here are my entries! I wanted to capture and combine some on-trend pieces, but make sure the outfits are ideal for the Ibiza climate, and also has a sophisticated, rock-chick edge, so it wasn't too girly, and more grown up! I have also shared these looks on Facebook and Twitter, so please hop over and like/retweet!

"Arriving at the airport, I am snuggled up to the comfy grey hoodie as the definition of a British summertime is rain and grey skies! I keep telling myself I'll soon be in warm, sunny Ibiza, as Venga-boys is on replay on my iPod. Wooooah, we're going to Ibiza! Ohhh, back to the Island! For ultimate travel comfort, my advice is to throw on a zip hoodie, like this one from New Look. Don't worry - as soon as you hit Ibiza, you can just take it off, and have a super-stylish holiday-ready outfit underneath! Two outfits for the effort of one! Add an element of style to the outfit with a gorgeous sheer floaty top, teamed with vintage-look mini shorts. My outfit for travelling:

My hair would be in a messy bun for effortless style, slicked back and out of the way with a few bobby pins and a super stylish cross-link headband. As soon as I arrive, I'd add the beautiful turquoise flower to get me in the summer spirit! Think Jessica Alba for the perfect messy bun...

Upon arriving at Ibiza, an overwhelming sense of serenity overcomes me, as I throw the hoodie in to my luggage, let my hair down and hit the beach! After all, I had to as I've worn my bikini on the plane all the way from England! My best piece of advice for hitting the beach is to mis-match your bikini - it's the perfect way to show off your individuality and create a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind look!

After a couple of hours relaxing and recuperating on the sun-soaked beaches, I hit the Ibiza clubs! I would stay in the bikini top, due to the sizzling Ibiza climate. It also doubles up as a super-cute bralet! In addition, I'd throw on a light and airy skirt to add a stylish edge to my club outfit. The skirt doesn't take up much space in a beach bag, so it's perfect for just throwing on after a long beach day! I would swap the over-sized beach tote for a sparkling clutch and I'm ready to go! My Beach to Club outfit:

Tousled beach waves would be perfect for both of these looks. For the day at the beach, I'd wear the gorgeous feathered hair clip for a laid back beach look. Then, to transform the hairstyle to club-ready, I'd clip back small front sections of hair with these sparkling bobby pins. I'd get inspiration from Miley Cyrus...

Following an amazing night at Ibiza's best clubs, I'm feeling a little delicate, so a day by the pool is exactly what the Doctor ordered! Cut-out costumes are HUGE this summer, and I love this electric blue number. After a quick dip in the pool, I'd add a kaftan as a little cover-up, as it's too hot for clothes in the blazing Ibiza sun! My accessories for a poolside outfit would definitely be a straw hat and over-sized sunglasses, to keep the sun off your face while you're having a cheeky pool-side read! My outfit:

A loose plait would be perfect for relaxing by the pool. I'd want my hair out of my face, but still looking pretty and also relaxed. I would add a few bow hair grips to make the look cute and ensure it's not too plain. They also go perfectly with the sunglasses! The queen of plaits has to be Fearne Cotton...

After a day of relaxing, I'm raring to go again! I met a guy at the clubs last night, and he's invited me out to a local restaurant! I can't wait to see him again - he's gorgeous! I really want to impress him, so I've chosen my outfit carefully... I chose the deep red as the colour pop for my outfit to transform my outfit from flirty beach day to sophisticated date night. Studs are huge this season, so I incorporated them in to my outfit in the form of the shirt. Its light flowy material is perfect for warm Ibiza nights- highly recommended by me! Its important not to go overboard with studs though - you don't want to scare your date off! You definitely need a quick sweep of glittery eye-liner over fake eye lashes, and killer heels to complete the look.

To ensure my outfit is sophisticated, I'd use one of New Look's super handy hair doughnuts to create a neat bun. For inspiration, I'd look to Kim Kardashian, whos hair is ALWAYS perfect!

The date went so well last night! We're meeting at the beach today, which will be SO much fun! I've kept my outfit nice and casual, and I'm looking forward to a fun day out before I leave the gorgeous Ibiza this evening. I kept my outfit stylishly simple, as you don't want to over-do it on the beach! I would recommend one focal point for the outfit, then a few small extras, don't go mad! After all, you want all attention to be on your newly-acquired tan! The beaded bikini was my focal point, then I added a simple hat, shorts, and sandals. When walking around the seafront, I'd add the bracelet, worn as an anklet, for a little summer sparkle!

For my final day on the beach, I would plait the front sections of my hair and clip them back with some lovely flower hair grips, which would complement my bikini and nail polish perfectly! I would leave my hair wavy and down, but if it gets too hot in the Ibiza sun, I'd put it in to a pony tail with a chic spiked hair band. I would look to Pixie Lott for this hair style...

I have the most amazing time in Ibiza, I don't want to go! I will definitely be back soon, and I have got my date's number, so who knows what will happen? But for now, it's off to the airport..."

I had SO much fun entering this competition and have my fingers and toes crossed that I am lucky! Thank you so much to Michelle and New Look for hosting such an amazing competition! I hope you all found my advice helpful if you are lucky enough to be jetting off to Ibiza soon! Don't forget to retweet my outfit on Twitter and Like it on Facebook!

What do you think of my outfits? Which is your favourite?
